Since 2009, FOBA has been publishing calendars containing pet photos submitted by local friends and supporters and selling the calendars to raise funds to support our rescue and adoption efforts. Money raised helps to cover expenses for veterinary care, food and supplies for animals in our foster homes. Our first calendar in 2009 contained only one or two pets per month, and subsequent issues have contained more photos to help us raise more money. In the 2017 issue, there are 144 beautiful photos, chosen from nearly 300 photos submitted. We thank all pet owners who have submitted photos and purchased our calendars!
FOBA’s calendar usually comes out in October, so that we can sell them at our major annual fundraiser, the Fur Ball, which takes place that month. We are very grateful for the kindness of several local stores in Beverly who help us sell our calendars. In 2016, these stores included Beverly Wild Bird and Pet Supply, Carroll’s Florist Shop, Dogs by Design, DogSpa, Marika’s Restaurant and SoHo Luxury Feline Cat Hotel. We welcome any new merchants who would be willing to sell our calendars.
If photos of your pets have appeared in one of our calendars, you can view them here (and show them off to your friends and family!). If you have never submitted a photo or photos but would like to do so, please send to them us between June 1 and August 1, at email@example.com. Please indicate in the subject line that your email contains a photo or photos for our calendar; e.g., “Photo for 2018 calendar,” and submit no more than three of each pet. Notices seeking photos will appear on our website and Facebook page, in local newspapers (Salem News and Beverly Citizen) and will be included in our newsletters and emails.
