Cummings Properties Community Giving Program  Donates $1000 to the Friends of Beverly Animals

On November 26, Chris Reilly, Associate Leasing Officer for Cummings Properties, and a recent graduate of Endicott College, presented Heidi Roberts, President and Founder of Friends of Beverly Animals, with a check for $1000. As part of the Cummings Community Giving Program, each year employees are given the sum to donate to the charity of their choice. Chris, who owns two dogs, chose FOBA because it is the only animal charity in the City of Beverly.

Friends of Beverly Animals, which began in 2007, is an all-volunteer nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to help the city’s homeless animals. It is run entirely by kind volunteers who take them into their homes and find good homes for the many animals in need (mostly cats, since the city handles dogs). The organization pays for veterinary care, food and supplies until the animals are adopted into their new homes.

Ms. Roberts and the FOBA volunteers hope to someday soon have an animal shelter in Beverly, where none currently exists. She believes that it would not be difficult for the City of Beverly to provide a small city-owned building, as the towns of Marblehead and Ipswich did to get started; both now have their own shelters.

The Friends of Beverly Animals wants to express sincere appreciation to Chris Reilly and Cummings Properties for this wonderful gift, and to all volunteers and supporters who make their rescue and adoption placement work possible.

DOG WASH, BAKE SALE, CAR WASH: A group of Endicott College students will be hosting a fundraising event for the Friends of Beverly Animals on November 3rd at 1:00 PM at the Church in the Cove, 167 Hale St, Beverly, MA. There will be a bake sale, car wash, and dog wash that day. (There is no dog walk that day). This is a fundraiser to raise money to put on the 5k which will be on either May 2nd or May 3rd. (waiting for approval from Endicott.) There will have a sign-up table at the Nov 3rd event for people to register to walk or volunteer at the actual 5k event.

T-shirts will be given out to those who donate $20 or more to the event as an incentive to jumpstart fundraising.

We will have a meeting on Monday, Sept. 30th at 6:30 PM at the Keller-Williams Real Estate Office, 500 Cummings Center, Beverly.

Looking for a great trivia night on the North Shore? Look no further! Come to the Friends of Beverly Animals (FOBA) Fur Ball to be held at the ICC at 302 Rantoul Street, Beverly, on Friday, October 11th, from 5:30-9:30 PM.

We are pleased to announce that we have just added a trivia contest to our 11th Annual Fur Ball! Join us and test your trivia knowledge, enjoy delicious food provided by Casual Catering, listen and dance to great music by J&C Entertainment DJs/Karaoke. We will also have some fantastic raffle and silent auction items. Doors open at 5:30 PM, with the trivia contest beginning at 7:00 PM. We will be giving away over $400 in gift cards and prizes to our top 3 teams. Not only will you be testing your skills as a trivia master, you will be helping a great cause. FOBA has rescued and found loving homes for hundreds of animals over the last 10+ years.

Tickets for the event are $25, and may be purchased by clicking the Donate button here on our website. Announcing Our Annual Fur Ball!

Please mark your calendars for our major fund-raiser for the year, the Fur Ball, to be held on Friday, October 11, 2019 at the Italian-American Club (ICC) 302 Rantoul Street, Beverly, from 5:30-9:30 PM. More info below, but for now we’d like to line up some volunteers to get raffle/silent auction items from local merchants, help selling tickets, putting up posters in and around Beverly, and help setting up the afternoon of the 11th.

In addition to many great raffle and auction items, we’ll have tasty food, popular music provided by J&C Entertainment DJs/Karaoke of the North Shore, and dancing and this year a new trivia contest! Dress in Halloween costumes if you wish, to make this event even more fun! Tickets are $25 and may be purchased on our website www.friendsofbeverlyanimals.org (click on the “Donate” button and indicate $ is for Fur Ball tickets), or email foba2007@gmail.com for further information.
