A great way to support FOBA’s work! Dine at Not Your Average Joe’s (45 Enon St., Beverly) on Monday May 7, from noon to 9 PM. FOBA will receive 15% of our supporters’ dining receipts (less alcohol). You need to print out and bring this Not Your Average Cause certificate. Put your name on the certificate and give it to your server. Not only will you be helping FOBA, but you’ll also be entered into the NYAJ’s drawing, in which two $25 gift cards will be given away. Help a great cause, enjoy excellent food, and possibly win a gift card. A total win/win! Please tell your friends and family about this event. We are grateful to NYAJ’s for this partnering opportunity, and as always, the animals and FOBA sincerely appreciate your wonderful support!!

Time to Plan for 2013 – Pet Photos Wanted!
Want to see your pet’s photo in our 2013 Calendar?
We can’t promise to use every photo received, but we will do our best! Please send your favorite digital pet photos to bhannable@gmail.com. For best quality, it is recommended that photos be approximately 1024 pixels (width) X 762 pixels (height) with a resolution of 100. If you are uncertain about your photos, submit them and we will let you know if they will work. Photos may also be mailed to FOBA at PO Box 3378, Beverly, MA 01915, but we cannot accept responsibility for their safe return. Copies or scans do not usually come out as well as digital photos, but again, we will try our best. Deadline for photo submissions is September 1, 2012.
Fostering Pets for Adoption
Ann Picariello joined FOBA in 2011 and we are delighted to have her. She recently wrote this inspiring article about her first fostering experience. Thanks, Ann! We hope that many others will be willing to give fostering a try. We are always in great need of foster homes! FOBA will pay expenses to cover food and litter for fostered cats and kittens.
From Ann’s article,
All of my life I have been a dog person. Cats had never appealed to me; I always thought they were distant and cold. My viewpoint changed a few months ago when I took in a stray mother cat and her three kittens…
Update: Fur Ball 2011
The Fur Ball held at the ICC on September 24th was a great success. We had a wonderful turnout, delicious food, a terrific band (“Don’t Call Me Shirley”) and very attractive raffle items. We want to thank everyone who helped with this event, including our members and all the local businesses who generously donated items for the raffles. Paul Guanci of Casual Catering and Super Sub provided much of the food, some of which was donated, and that was also greatly appreciated. This event just keeps getting better and better each year!
